4 kids, one on the way, 40 years old, and finally choosing myself. A Physician Assistant who knew exactly what the data said — and ignored it for too long. This is that changing.
I'm a 40-year-old Physician Assistant and dad of four — with a fifth arriving this fall. I see the consequences of obesity in my patients every day. I know the labs, the risks, the timeline of what happens when nothing changes. And for years, I knew all of it and still did nothing about it for myself.
A demanding PA career, four kids at home, a baby on the way, and a faith that keeps reminding me this body is worth stewarding — that combination finally made something click. This blog is my public accountability: the good days, the hard days, and every honest moment in between.
If you're a busy parent who feels like there's never a right time — I get it. I'm writing this for you too.

Showing up every day. Updated weekly.
This journey isn't just physical. My faith is a real part of why I'm doing this — and I won't hide it here. I believe this body was entrusted to me, and I've been a poor steward of it. That changes now.
"Therefore I do not run like someone running aimlessly; I do not fight like a boxer beating the air. No, I strike a blow to my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize." — 1 Corinthians 9:26–27
I'll write openly about how faith intersects with discipline, rest, identity, and what it means to pursue health not out of fear — but out of gratitude.
